A range of visa options are available under the General Skilled Migration program. 

These visa categories are available for skilled individuals who are not sponsored by an employer, and include visa categories for independent skilled migrants, skilled migrants sponsored by a relative, and graduates. 

To be eligible for a visa under the General Skilled Migration program, applicants have to meet a number of basic criteria that include skill assessment, age, English language ability, work experience, health and character. 

Most visa subclasses also require the applicant to satisfy a points test based on additional criteria. 

The current pass mark for the Skilled Independent visa is 120 points and current pass mark for the Skilled Sponsored visa is 100 points.
