Temporary Employment Visa
Temporary Business Long Stay Visa
The Business Long Stay Visa enables an approved Standard Business Sponsor to sponsor the applicant’s visa for a period that can range from three months to four years.
This is a three step process:
Step 1: Employer sponsorship
The first step in the Employer Nomination Scheme is for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) to approve the employer as a sponsor for skilled non-Australian workers.
To become a sponsor, the employer must satisfy a number of sponsorship conditions required by DIAC.
This includes requirements relating to the business operations and the criteria that the employment of skilled overseas workers must be to the benefit of Australia.
Step 2: Employer nomination of position
The next step in the Employer Nomination Scheme is approval of the nomination of the position itself. For the nomination to be approved the position must meet the nomination criteria and the conditions of employment must comply with the guidelines set by DIAC.
Step 3: Employee application
If the nominated position has gained approval from DIAC, the next step is to submit the employee’s visa application. In order for the visa to be granted the employee must make a valid application and must satisfy the criteria set out by the Department. The application process can include assessment of the applicant’s ability to meet the visa’s language, health and character requirements.
